I pulled the receptacle that i thought was the lead and found 6 wires inside. The switch should have 3 terminals for 2 way setup the single red wire on its own will probably goto com common and the remaining redblack to l1 l2 but carefully check this before you take the old one completely off.

Wiring A 2 Way Switch
Light switch 2 black wires 1 red wire.
