I pulled the receptacle that i thought was the lead and found 6 wires inside. The switch should have 3 terminals for 2 way setup the single red wire on its own will probably goto com common and the remaining redblack to l1 l2 but carefully check this before you take the old one completely off.
Wiring A 2 Way Switch
Light switch 2 black wires 1 red wire. If the switch that was there is a standard light switch with two brass screws on it and one green screw you can connect the red wire to either of the brass screws. Connect the black wire to the other brass screw. Connect the black jumper wire to the top terminal screw on the switch and now both the switch and the top receptacle in the split tab outlet have power. If you have a ground wire connect the ground wire to the green screw. There appear to be two white assume neutral wires screwed together with a wire nut and a ground wire tucked away inside the junction box.
However if you need to rewire a light switch or a plug socket you may occasionally come across two black wires.
