It hick ups intermitantly like someone is quickly switching the ignition on and off. I had it installed with an msd adaptor harness for the application.

Msd ignition box problems. A new box solved the problem. You can also perform this test by disconnecting the two prong lead from the msd distributor to the 6a box. Rats speed shop kauai hi. So its not the first time but it seems ive got a box brand new from msd that doesnt work. Remove the coil wire from the distributor cap and position the terminal so it is approximately 12 from a good ground. Tested it and voila got spark. Took the old box that i thought was crap and hooked it up direct as well. In a typical factory style inductive ignition current from the battery flows through the thicker primary windings when the switching device points or magnetic pickups is closed. Disconnect the msd white wire from the distributor points or the ignition amplifier.

I disconnected it completely and so far cross my fingers the problem has gone away. Next day it will start or sometime later. Turn the ignition to the on position. The new box was purchased from summit.
